New web site of ULA
Its not new...Yes, it is a few weeks old by now. But its new in the sense I'm experimenting with different templates and features. The previous editor had done a great job in terms of designing a whole new web site for ULA - from the scratch. When I took the office this year, what I had to do was to add some dynemic nature to the site. I was trying different methods and designs for some time.
All of a sudden I had a chance to attend an in-house staff development course. It was about Joomla; the content management system.
Lucky me! It had something I was looking for a long time.So I used Joomla to design this web site.
It's not great yet! It has some sort of functionality like user registration, automatic news arrangements, counting, and so on. But many a thing in the list. We should have past JULA issues at least in abstract form, and if possible full text converted to PDF. The past copies of the newsletter is also on the list.
We welcome volunteers who can scan these documents to convert them into digital form.
List of completed tasks is still short...and the TTD list is growing fast.
